Little Torppa, completed in 2014, is a 40 square metre log cabin built by Kuusamo Log Houses. The cabin houses six people. Extra beds are available if needed.
There are two bedrooms downstairs. The smaller one has a bunk bed and the other one is fitted with a double bed, shelves, TV and radio.
The downstairs common room is a combined kitchen and living room. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, microwave oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. There is cutlery for around ten persons and some pots and pans. The dining table seats five. The room also has a sofa that can act as an extra bed if necessary.
The upstairs of Little Torppa is a spacious loft with two beds. The ceiling of the loft is relatively high and there is a window that lets in a lot of light. Many lodgers have said that they really enjoy the loft and prefer sleeping there.
The guesthouse has a bathroom with WC and shower. A sauna with an electric stove can be found in the house next door. The outbuilding in the yard also has a traditional sauna with a wood-burning sauna stove. The saunas may also be reserved separately for a separate fee.
The decor of Little Torppa is inspired by the poppy flower. The poppy’s bright red is prominently displayed in the cabin’s paintings, furniture, textiles, dishes and bathroom tiles.
Of course, one must not forget the heart of the house: a heat-reserving fireplace that can be used to create a warm and cosy atmosphere inside the cabin. The cabin also has electric heating and an air source heat pump.
Little Torppa has its own little terrace and a view over the yard where Majatalo Torppa is also situated. The terraces in the yard are there for the lodgers to use and there is an option to cook food either in a charcoal grill or on open flame. Or you can simply sit back and enjoy the fresh air and the beauty of Finnish summer.
The outbuilding is also stocked with a few yard games.
The Kymi River that runs only two kilometres away from Little Torppa is teeming with fish. The casting pier and new fish ladder at Korkeakoski draw in anglers from all over Finland and Europe, while the beautiful surroundings of Siikakoski offer great opportunities for fly fishing.
The distance to Kotka city centre is 12 kilometres and the Karhula Motorsports Centre and Aviation Museum are situated only three kilometres away. Little Torppa is situated in a serene pastoral landscape surrounded by wonderful forests where one can find berries and mushrooms in the summertime. In the winter there are several maintained cross-country ski tracks nearby.

Erittäin vieraanvarainen emäntä ja puhdas mökki. Keittiö täysin varusteltu. Ympäröivä alue on ihana.
Kuin uusi mökki, lapsiystävällinen, hyvällä paikalla. Takka hyvä ja todella mukava henkilökunta.
A great place to take a break from the bustle of the city for a few days. Quiet, secluded corner of Finland. Warm, cozy cottage whit a stove and all the necessary amenities. Very sincere hostess Pauliina! And an excellent Finnish sauna. You can come as an adult company or with small children. We have come here for the second time and will be back again.
Wonderful hospitable hostess. There is everything for cooking. Cozy little house. The yard is very nicely decorated for Christmas.
Fin stuga som passade bra åt vår familj på 6.
I like the the house, the fireplace is super and the hostess Pauliina. Very cozy, home-like. Pauliina kindly provided a sauna. Recommend.
A great place to meet friends, relax for two days.
